Do you have a tooth that has imperfections in its color, shape, size, or length? If so, Dr. Nathalie Dowsett is happy to provide dental veneers in Calgary, Alberta, to make the alterations you need to achieve a more attractive smile.
Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells that cover the front surface of your teeth and improve their appearance. Veneers are typically made of porcelain, which has the ability to resist stains and also mimic the light-reflecting properties of your natural teeth. There are many situations where you might need veneers, which may include:
• Severe staining or discoloration on the teeth
• Worn-down teeth
• Broken, chipped, or cracked teeth
• Uneven, irregularly shaped, or misaligned teeth
• Large gaps between teeth
The process of placing a dental veneer may take up to three visits to Dowsett Dental Health’s office. The first visit will include the consultation and treatment plan creation. Your next visit will involve the preparation of your tooth. Your dentist will prepare the tooth by shaving a portion of the tooth down to allow room for the veneer. Once the tooth is the correct shape, she will make impressions of the tooth. Your last visit will involve your dentist checking and adjusting the new veneer to your bite and smile. The veneer will then be permanently cemented to the tooth. In some cases, our dentist may utilize CEREC® same-day restoration technology to reduce the number of needed visits.
